Russian class may test ‘virtual reality experience’ in Glastonbury – Journal Inquirer

GLASTONBURY — An organization that is developing a “virtual reality experience” for foreign language learning is hoping to test the program briefly on local students of Russian in mid-January.

At its meeting this evening, the Board of Education is scheduled to consider the proposal from the National Foreign Language Center at the University of Maryland.

Betsy Hart of the foreign language center, wrote in a letter to Rita Oleksak, the local school system’s foreign languages director, that the test is expected to take about an hour of class time.
